About Us

We are the folks behind Marin Wood Craft Co., Hilary and Ryan Mize.

Our family has deep roots in Marin and within the Marinwood community. Ryan grew up here and in 2012 we were able to buy our first home.  In 2015 when our first son Patrick was born, I was looking for a way to stay home with him and earn a little spare income for the family. After taking the leap and leaving my career in publishing Ryan suggested we buy a laser engraving machine to try it out. I started a small Etsy shop to showcase my designs and experimented with the machine by selling ornaments and other small gifts. 

After a great first holiday season and finding myself consumed with ideas for more fun designs I was drunk with laser power. Fast forward seven years and my small naptime hustle Etsy shop has become a thriving family business!

We create laser cut home decor and gift items from our home workshop right here in Marinwood. When we're not designing, cutting painting or shipping products you can find us coaching baseball, leading cub scouts, or volunteering at Mary Silveira where our oldest attends school.
